Description

1.Product Introduction

The PE abrasion-resistant pipe is a pipeline product specifically engineered for high-wear operating conditions.It is primarily manufactured using polyolefin wear-resistant materials or Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE). Through special composite processes (such as co-extrusion or three-layer composite), the pipe’s inner wall forms an exceptional wear-resistant layer. This layer effectively withstands long-term impact, abrasion, and corrosion from the conveyed medium, significantly extending the service life while reducing replacement frequency and overall costs.

3.Connection Methods

  1. Flanged Connection:This is the most commonly used connection method for UHMW-PE composite pipes. It offers easy disassembly and installation, facilitates maintenance, and helps reduce installation and repair costs.
  1. Heat Fusion Connection:This category includes butt fusion and socket fusion.
  • Butt Fusionis suitable for pipes with larger diameters. It involves heating the pipe ends to a molten state (typically 200-220°C) and joining them under pressure, creating a high-strength weld seam whose strength can even exceed that of the pipe material itself.
  • Socket Fusionis more suitable for small-diameter pipes (generally below DN63 mm).
  1. Socket and Spigot Connection:For non-pressure PE pipes, a socket and spigot connection with an elastomeric seal ring can be used. This method offers simple installation and good sealing performance.
  • Important Note:UHMW-PE composite pipes cannot be connected using welding methods.

  • Dredging Projects:For conveying silt from ports, rivers, and lakes. Traditional steel pipes are prone to scaling, leading to high cleaning and maintenance costs.
  • Petroleum & Chemical Industries:For conveying corrosive media like crude oil wastewater and acid solutions. Steel pipes corrode rapidly in these environments, often becoming unusable after only 1-3 years.
  • Building Materials & Grain Industries:For conveying materials such as sand, cement, and grains. Traditional pipes wear quickly; for example, seamless steel pipes used for cement transport may last only about 3 months.
